✈️ Taking off: The Mangōpare Air New Zealand Pilot Cadetship Our new pilot training programme accelerates the journey to becoming a commercial pilot from 24-36 months to approximately 14 months. We want to inspire more Kiwis to pursue a career as a pilot and ensure we can continue to meet future demand for highly skilled pilots. If you are an aspiring Kiwi aviator, apply here! https://lnkd.in/gAtRP_VE

Is it actually needed? NZ has always had an oversupply of pilots. I can’t see how putting cadets into the system solves anything. Happy to be corrected though.

Well done Air New Zealand...but do try to bring as much of this training back home when you can.

My son is a qualified commercial pilot, trained at an Air NZ endorsed flight school in NZ. And he has always, since he was young, wanted to fly with Air NZ. But there is no path from spending two years in training and flying 270 hours to actually getting a job with AirNZ. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to address that first?

Extremely frustrating we train low time foregn pilots for first officer jet roles but can’t train New Zealanders here in NZ. Inept government policy setting since 2013 have created this problem. We want this training completed here in NZ. Government cut the red tape and lets us bring our young people home. Air NZ I really feel for you. A business solution to a tone deafness Wellington.

A great initiative to encourage and secure the next generation of pilots.

My daughter has tied to get in has all the qualifications but still did not get excepted sad you have missed out on a great chance off a good potential pilot in the future as nz need more pilots.

As a parent of a teenager with his heart set on becoming a pilot, this is the kind of initiative that will get him there! Great forward thinking

My son is 12 and he can't wait to start Pilot School. He's already done a training flight at Ardmore and will get his solo licence when he is 16. He'll be happy to hear about this programme.

This looks like a pretty cool initiative and it would be interesting to see if any of the training could be brought back in to New Zealand, if it is successful.
