Our September roundtable discussion was on the topic "Combating shadow AI in the organization" The discussion emphasizes the rising awareness of shadow AI through clear communication, quick education, and policies. Below are few key categories, 1. Strategic Misalignment - Where AI teams purpose, goals, budget, KPI etc are not aligned with whole org's purpose. 2. Operational Misalignment - The AI team's activities don't directly contribute to the company's financial performance. 3. Structural Misalignment- The AI leadership is not well connected with or far removed from the Executive leadership, its skills and experiences don't match the company's requirements. 4. Cultural Misalignment- Specific market factors may induce overly cautious behaviours, archaic performance/ reward mechanisms, that stifle open collaboration required for creating transformative change with AI. The session was moderated by: Santosh Karthikeyan Viswanathan, Global Technical Director, Clinical Data & Insights - AstraZeneca Panelists: Bhaskar Roy, Client Partner APAC and Bangalore Center Head - Fractal Gopinath Chidambaram, General Manager - Ford Motor Company Kulbhooshan Patil, Head of Data Science and Analytics - Tata Aig General Insurance Companies Limited Manish Kumar Purwar, Sr Director - Technical Product Manager, Customer Experience - GE HealthCare Partha D. What's your definition of AI-powered products? In discussions with senior product leaders, a clear theme emerged - the evolving landscape of AI-powered products. Many expressed frustration that AI is still perceived as limited to chatbots and digital assistants. The reality is that AI enables transformative capabilities far beyond conversational interfaces. AI is now being leveraged across industries. In healthcare, AI-powered imaging tools aid early disease detection. In finance, AI automates complex tasks like portfolio management. In manufacturing, predictive maintenance systems reduce machinery breakdowns. The key is understanding that AI encompasses a collection of advanced techniques, not a single monolithic technology. Products are now imbued with unique intelligent functionalities powered by AI. Take Honey, a browser extension that uses AI to find and apply the best coupon codes. Or Woebot, a mental health chatbot leveraging AI and cognitive therapy principles to offer personalized support. The possibilities are vast - from smart assistants that learn user preferences to autonomous systems making real-time decisions. The focus should be on solving specific problems through intelligent automation, not building generic chatbots. The true power of AI lies in its ability to imbue products with sophisticated cognitive capabilities. The AI-driven future is already here, far more advanced than commonly imagined. #aiproducts #productinnovation #genai Adi Prakash Rajneesh S. Here’s my projection: By 2030, AI will be capable of performing 100 percent of a radiologist’s tasks, but industry adoption will take time. Policy hurdles, incumbent interests, and institutional inertia will slow the transition, as is typical with any transformative technology. However, the trajectory will be clear as AI augments and streamlines work across all levels. What to expect: - Low skill jobs: 80 percent of roles like factory work, delivery driving, and data entry will be automated, freeing human potential for more meaningful tasks - Administrative tasks: 70 percent of activities like scheduling and bookkeeping will be automated, allowing teams to focus on higher value work - Mid skill roles: 60 percent of functions in logistics, operations, and customer service will be augmented as AI optimizes processes and workflows - Highly technical fields: 50 percent of diagnostic and analytical tasks in healthcare, finance, and data science will shift to AI tools, enhancing precision and productivity - Creative sectors: 40 percent of workflows in marketing, design, and content creation will be reshaped by AI, enabling more focus on ideation and strategy - Leadership roles: 30 percent of decision making will rely on AI insights, helping leaders make more informed and timely decisions By 2030, AI will become a powerful tool across all skill levels, driving efficiency, enhancing human creativity, and opening new avenues for innovation and growth. Those who embrace these changes will unlock new opportunities in an increasingly dynamic landscape. #2030 #AI
