Although Agtegra Appreciation Night took place a few weeks ago, the impact of the event in Huron is still fresh in our minds. We are immensely grateful to our industry partners whose support made this gathering a memorable occasion for our customers, employees, and their guests! The agriculture industry goes beyond crops and livestock—it's about the vital relationships we build to feed and fuel our world. A big thank you to the sponsors who helped make this event a success and who continuously contribute to our mission.

I'm heading to Dallas next month to the Reducetarian Summit to share some insights from Social Change Lab's research. I'll be speaking about how different tactics and strategies can advance (or frustrate) the goals of those seeking to reduce animal product consumption and eliminate factory farming. Empowering Kabubbu’s farmers, local farmers benefit by selling their corn to #kabubbumaizemill, which is then processed into high-quality animal feed like broken chicken feed. We also provide essential services to chicken farmers, processing their own corn into nutritious feed. Join us in supporting the community and fostering sustainable agriculture watch this video to see how it’s all done susan babirye

Don't miss Remo Schmidt's testimonial of his presnetation at the IDF Cheese Science and Technology Symposium in Bergen #Norway. Dr. Schmidt is Head of research group, «Cheese quality, Cultures and Terroir» at Agroscope, #Switzerland. His take-home points are: 👉 Automated Milking Systems (AMS) become increasingly popular in Switzerland, providing a solution for increased farmer well-being, while guaranteeing high animal welfare. 👉 However, the effects of AMS, as well as the increased storage time associated with 24/7 milking, on milk and cheese quality is not fully understood. 👉 In close collaboration with the Swiss artisan cheesemakers, Agroscope has investigated these effects. 👉 While effects were slight, we saw some effect of AMS on microbial communities, detected by well-established practitioners’ tests, highlighting the importance of assessing not only bacterial load, but also reproducibility of bacteria in milk. #IDFCheese2024 #WeAreDairy #ProudToBeDairy

Animal agriculture is a major contributor to #ClimateChange and #biodiversity loss. While some lower impact methods of animal agriculture exist, the best outcome is to reduce consumption. Thankfully, excellent plant based & cellular agriculture alternative exist. Here's George Monbiot to explain how precision fermentation can offer the animal products that are part of our diet today but without need for the animals themselves - https://lnkd.in/gEJaNnKC As part of our broader #RebootFood campaign we launched the #McChoice campaign which calls on Maccas to offer a plant-based menu nationwide. This could also include food made from precision fermentation. Cow free dairy ice-cream anyone? Sigh our petition: https://lnkd.in/ghp5cc4P

Over the last four years, we've been optimising our platform so other companies, like retailers and food producers, can create cultivated animal products at scale. Part of that journey is developing a robust cell line process. Watch our CEO Brett Thompson break it down in this conversation hosted by Daniel Protz from FlavorWiki. Talash Huijbers, from Limuru, wondered why farmers are the poorest despite growing our food. In 2018, after earning a Food and Agribusiness degree, she founded Insectipro, using insects to revolutionize agriculture. They grow black soldier flies for animal feed and crickets for human consumption. Read her inspiring story at https://lnkd.in/dvxNEAMc #Top40Under40KE

In this week's episode, I sit down with Natalie Kovarik, co-host of the popular podcast Discover AG and a 4th generation cattle rancher turned social entrepreneur who weaves western & urban living to feature agriculture in a unique & alluring fashion. Alongside her husband Luke, Natalie owns and operates Kovarik Cattle Co, a cattle ranch located in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. Natalie offers incredible insights into the tension between the agriculture sector and shifting political foundations, and how policies surrounding GMOs and glyphosates are reshaping the industry. From consumer perceptions to government regulations, we dive into the hot topics affecting farmers today, including the role of GMOs and the controversial use of glyphosate in the food industry. As someone deeply connected to the land, running a fourth generation cattle ranch, she shares her understanding of how consumers and farmers can find common ground. This conversation is essential for anyone looking to understand the challenges and changes in agriculture, whether you're a farmer, a consumer, or just curious about the future of food systems. https://lnkd.in/gU-Ubycg #AgricultureNews #SustainableFarming #FarmToTable #GMOsInFood #GlyphosateDebate #AgTech #FarmersAndConsumers #FutureOfFarming #FoodIndustry
