Pharmaceutical production is a major industry for Ireland, worth around €42bn in 2022, and is one of the country's largest sectors when it comes to net selling value. This year's Top Companies in this sector in Ireland include: BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Boston Scientific, Gilead Sciences, Merck Group, Regeneron, Eli Lilly and Company, Medtronic, ICON plc, UnitedHealth Group and Sanofi. Essential Pharma is a global specialty pharmaceutical company focused on providing access to essential niche medicines, particularly for small patient populations. Operating in over 70 countries, it specialises in areas like CNS, gastroenterology and rare diseases, ensuring the supply of critical low-volume medicines that address unmet clinical needs. Sixth Street is a global investment firm managing over $75 billion in assets. It uses flexible capital, data-driven tools and a team-focused approach to support companies at all growth stages.
