The House Republican proposal for a fiscal commission is a terrible idea that would push older Americans into poverty, take away people’s health care and end up costing the government more. The labor movement stands united in our belief that slashing crucial programs like Medicare and Social Security—which millions of hardworking individuals rely on and have contributed to—will make people poorer, sicker, hungrier and even lose their homes; it also would put the pay and benefits for federal workers on the chopping block.  This commission is a power grab that is trying to bypass the regular democratic process by hiding behind closed doors and fast-tracking a plan that escapes public scrutiny and accountability, and rips away the security older people rely on and have paid for. Working people support a revenue-centric approach that makes the ultra-rich and big corporations pay their fair share instead of a cruel commission that would send older adults into poverty and rip health care away from Americans.

Benefits matter so very much to families and communities and systems at large… and small. The balances and pathways of varied private and public works needs better connections with communities. The reality is that privacy, transparency and proper oversight hold many keys in which to help us… and our streams and pools… Health interoperability and infrastructure and human centric positive human centric feedback loops. There are so many who’ve come before us, and we are here to help the now and those yet to arrive. #LoveEVICTShate

Most of us older Americans are already at poverty levels, especially those of us who are living on fixed incomes and who depends on Medicare for insurance and Social Security benefits. And don’t speak of SNAP, because if you an elderly person and get one dollar over the maximum wage that they allow you to make they only want to give you 23 dollars per month in SNAP benefits per month or they turn you down for SNAP benefits which is truly sad with the way the economy and government sets standards for people that have worked hard all of our lives to pay into and can’t get any help

Unless we figure out a way to fight fire with fire and extinguish what the REPUBLICANS are attempting to do, the Pirates will demolish what so menny people have worked hard for. Let's take off the kitgloves and put on the boxing gloves and put an end to the dangerous game that they are trying to play.

It would be great if the AFL-CIO would call for an immediate and unconditional CEASEFIRE in Gaza.
