Last year we saw Black women and Latinas achieving higher rates of unionization, even though overall unionization rates were roughly flat. This is especially important because unions can help close the wage gap and advocate for access to benefits that are important to women. Women predominately work in caring roles and this has caused a financial crisis and Skills Shortage in Pathology, due to Private Pathology employees not valuing their skilled workforce. Despite EBA Campaigns to increase wages, we continue to see The Private Pathology sector offer dramatically less pay to their employees than the Public Sector. This has caused a Staff and Skills Shortage causing a crisis in the Sector. Private Pathology have campaigned for an extra $160 Million in Government Funding, citing increased wages is causing operational problems, yet they must only be at CEO level. The efforts by the right to undermine unionization in this country have been slow and deliberate. Since the moment the New Deal was put into action, corporate America has been working to repeal it, making workers' rights their number one target. It's why we don't have universal healthcare, a living wage, better maternity and paternity leave, more vacation, and better work-life-balance. It's why Americans are some of the most overworked people, why our burnout rate is so high, and why so many of us still live paycheck to paycheck. This country will never reach the lofty ideals it claims to reach for until workers are unionized and the government stops regulating in favor of the wealthy.

EU women earn 13% less than men for the same job. This is often due to a lack of wage transparency. ✅ New EU rules on Pay Transparency require companies to disclose what men and women earn for the same job, allowing women to claim what they are due. The EU’s new Pay Transparency Directive also requires employers to use objective pay systems to prevent inequalities. Today is election day. As people, it's a time for us to exercise our democratic right to vote. As businesses, it can feel like a moment of total uncertainty. HR Inform recently released a great article that shows gives business owners an outline of what to expect from each party, should they win. For a conservative victory, you'll see raised wages for workers, changes to sickness absence, equality laws, trade union laws and legislation around foreign workers. Labour intends to update legislation around gender pay gaps, day-one-rights, self-employed rights, workplace harassment, sick pay, tips and zero-hour contracts.
