Affirm’s Founder and CEO, Max Levchin, recently joined Yahoo Finance’s Brian Sozzi to discuss the latest news in tech, investing, artificial intelligence, and consumer finance. The conversation outlined how the rise of Affirm and honest financial products represent the unbundling of the credit card, why Affirm doesn’t charge late fees, and the importance of having high conviction when building products that address major societal challenges. Highlights include: ⏱️ “Things that are worth doing take time…if you put the right foundation and continue iterating you really get some extraordinary results. The idea of unbundling the credit card is here to stay.” 🤝 “Whenever you charge late fees, you're fundamentally misaligned with your customer. The consumer is stumbling either because they're a sloppy payer or something happened. The idea of taking money with an extra fee on top of it just seems so profoundly wrong for a customer obsessed company…When we started, everyone laughed at us that we wouldn't charge late fees. Today, more than half of all pay-over-time products like Affirm do not charge late fees. We've caused a real shift.” 💊 "The thing that makes this industry unique is we are not bucketing all of your payment obligations into this single thing that just sits there, gathering incremental interest. Pay-over-time products are the antidote to that.” ⚙️ "I am someone who loves building products. That’s what drives me. The conviction that I have is real. We have a long way to go.”  Watch the full interview here: https://yhoo.it/3z7wzGE
