Summer holiday periods from April to October are when most cabin crew are contracted. While some may have reservations about seasonal #contracts, others find it the perfect fit for their career plans. Here’s when this contract option can be most beneficial: - Family life Seasonal contracts can be advantageous for cabin crew with family commitments, as they provide a better work-life balance. You can be away less often, allowing you to spend most nights at home. - Students This contract also works well for students who want to grow professionally during their summer break from university or college. Being a cabin crew can be a valuable #experience, and there may be opportunities to practice multiple #skills and stay at various destinations depending on the airline's routes. - Career break Seasonal contracts, with no long-term commitments, offer a break from everyday routine and a chance to try something new and exciting. Take it as a testing ground if you are unsure about a cabin crew job being in your future. Register with Aerviva, and we'll make sure to find you the optimal path, whether for this summer or a bigger career picture: https://lnkd.in/gicsV2X2 #Aerviva #AviationIndustry #AviationCareers #CabinCrew #SeasonalContracts

CABIN CREW job is not subject to seasonal work contracts, in most EU countries. I am amazed how a work contract degradation is presented as fabulous opportunity! Amazing "socialwashing" by a company that DOES NOT OFFFER normal employment for pilots & cabin crew. Evidence seen so far is either self employed or fixed term contracts with twmporary work agencies. Can any pilot and cabin crew demonstrate a regular, permanent employment contract in an EU state? Would be interested to see. What does it mean? Have companies have started to invest their money to lobby for changes in legislation to redefine air crew job as seasonal work? Maybe. A step away from any sustainability and human rights committments... European Labour Authority European Transport Workers' Federation European Pilots

"Jessy, girls don't work on the airside!" As a young 19-year-old trainee with zero work experience in aviation, I received plenty of advice on what I shouldn't do... of course, with the best intentions! - "You are a trainee; you will never get confirmed." I got confirmed within the first three months instead of 12. - "Don't work on the airside; it's not safe for females." That's exactly where I worked for two years. - "Don't attend advanced training programs; they're tough." I attended and walked away with distinctions. - "Don't move to Traffic Services (in the early 1990s); it's known as the department for check-in services, and your salary will be deducted if you lose the flight coupons." Within the first six months, I was promoted to work in Traffic Services. - "Take light duties because you are pregnant." I worked in shift patterns in operations, with my rostered shift timing from 04:00 to 13:00. - "Don't become a flight supervisor; it's a huge responsibility." I went on to become a Flight Supervisor for most of the European airlines. - "Don't try for promotions; it's male-dominated." I went on to become the first female Duty Officer in operations. And the list goes on... There were so many pieces of advice, probably given with the best intentions by my seniors. However, when someone told me not to do something, it only made me more curious and led me to ask myself, "Why not?" The Dual Impact of a Seafaring Career: Opportunities and Challenges for Crew Members For someone taking on the role of a crew member, life aboard a ship represents a journey filled with learning and challenges. Generally, being a crew member offers a unique opportunity to travel the world, experience new cultures, and engage in adventures that many may never encounter. The individual who embraces this career finds themselves immersed in a dynamic and multicultural environment where effective communication and teamwork are essential. However, there is much more to this profession than exotic landscapes and new friendships. A crew member develops various skills, including resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving under pressure. These qualities contribute to their future, both personally and professionally, making them more prepared to handle workplace challenges. Additionally, daily interactions with people from different countries broaden their global perspective, providing a network of contacts that can be valuable throughout their life. On the flip side, a crew member often faces sacrifices. Long periods away from home, distance from family and friends, and a lack of stability and routine can weigh heavily. Missing significant moments in loved ones' lives is a reality that many face, and maintaining relationships at a distance requires continuous effort. Furthermore, the lifestyle at sea can impact physical and mental well-being, necessitating careful balance. Looking ahead, the experience of being a crew member can open doors in various fields, especially in sectors that value resilience and adaptability. Life aboard not only enriches one's resume but also profoundly shapes character. However, it's crucial for crew members to reflect on the long-term impact of this choice on their lives and plan their return to land with a skill set that allows them to thrive in any environment. #LifeAtSea #CrewLife #MaritimeCareer #GlobalExperience #CareerDevelopment #TravelAndWork #Resilience #Adaptability #SeafarerLife #WorkAbroad #InternationalExperience #ProfessionalGrowth #WorkAndTravel #MaritimeIndustry #PersonalDevelopment
