CAE and VietJet Air have signed a long-term agreement for the CAE Pelesys Training Management and Deployment System and Aircraft Type and Special Operations CBT for initial and recurrent training. Starting October 1, approximately 5,000 users, including 1,000 VietJet pilots, will benefit from the CAE Pelesys software suite. ✈️🖥 The use of CAE Pelesys is part of Vietjet’s digital transformation, which will standardize training delivery and management and seamlessly integrate training management data into the airline’s operations systems. The deployment of CBT will make training more convenient for pilots and more cost-effective for the airline. 📈 In addition to CAE Pelesys, Vietjet currently operates three CAE-built Airbus A320 simulators, and CAE delivers Airbus A330 training to VietJet pilots. Today I received a perfect score on my line evaluation in the Alsim A-Jet Airliner, marking the completion of the AVIT 480 course (Advanced Aircraft Operations) at UND! This course, combined with its prerequisite course AVIT 428 (Transport Category Aircraft Systems) prepares UND students for part 121 training and operations. This includes an LMS course on A320 systems — along with a systems validation — followed by a procedures validation, maneuvers validation, and line evaluation in the Alsim. This puts UND students ahead of the curve after graduation, as we have a working understanding of important concepts such as airliner systems, V1 cuts and other emergency operations, CRM as both captain and FO, flying in the flight levels, part 121 regulations, FMS programming, etc. Additionally, this course provides the knowledge, study skills, and confidence to effectively study for a type rating. The “Alsim Airliner” is a fictitious aircraft simulator that accurately represents both Airbus and Boeing cockpit philosophies — although the “A-Jet” model favors Airbus. The Pegasus was certified using a rotor spin-up system that created sufficient inertia such that the application of collective pitch (like a helicopter), enabled the aircraft to "jump" vertically whilst the pusher propeller provided the transition to horizontal flight. https://lnkd.in/dGGwknNC Gyrocopters usually have a fixed blade pitch + hence even with pre-spin-up, they require a take-off roll (100m+). The lack of a main gearbox + tail rotor system (compared to traditional helicopters), and simple mechanical flight controls compared to the complication (and certification) of the multi-plex, digital flight control systems necessary in all multi-rotor, powered lift eVTOLs, provides high reliability and reduced operational costs. Loss of power on a helicopter results in a critical auto-rotation landing, usually requiring a landing roll/skid sliding landing. Auto-rotation is not available on multi-rotor eVTOLs, but is the normal no-roll landing technique of the Pegasus. The simplicity of the Pegasus has been carried over to our 11 seat/9 passenger P-9 hybrid, compound gyroplane. The aircraft is priced at $500k and total hourly operational cost of $114 per hour. ARC Aerosystems is taking orders for deliveries starting from 2025.
