What an inspirational leader.
Persistent and purposeful best describe my recent guest for #OnPurpose. I sat down with Dr. Willie Reed, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University, and Zoetis Board Member, to talk about his memories of growing up during desegregation in the South – and how his family inspired him to achieve something many thought impossible. I know you’ll be captivated by the heart-warming stories of his first-grade lessons on his grandmother’s porch, his passion for veterinary pathology – or “detective work” – and meeting a veterinarian of color for the first time. Thank you, Dr. Reed, for sharing your journey and inspiring others at every step.

Our paper detailing the impact of a framework for antimicrobial selection on 238 students across 5 veterinary schools is now published in the Journal of Veterinary Medical Education! This has been a passion project of mine since I was a fellow (and my first independent grant back in 2020!) I am very proud of this work and I am excited to keep growing as an educational researcher (in addition to nerdy micro bench stuff still- ha!).
