During Black Friday, Elkjøp Norge AS used TrafficPeak, an Akamai Technologies product powered by Hydrolix, to stop a massive DDoS attack that involved 3000 IP addresses across 80 countries. This is just going to get worse...and even more troubling to me is the way companies up-charge for enhanced security features on their platforms. I can't count the number of solutions I have worked with that don't offer SSO capabilities without paying extra, as just one example. If security is such a big deal and you want your customers safe, then don't charge extra for what should be a baseline of security features that everyone can utilize from the start. And yes, the companies impacted should all be able to afford top notch security solutions, but just because they are a large enterprise doesn't mean they automatically do a good job with security... #Truth But profits above all else, right?
