We love the work being done by Adalytics in pioneering accountability and mass fraud detection in the digital advertising industry. This highlights issues too often ignored, overlooked and covered up by agencies, brands and legacy fraud detection companies. The fraud detection business was worth over US$29.5 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 24.3% over the next decade (source in comments). And yet with all the investment and technology available, with all the data and signals being produced, ad fraud continues to grow at an alarming rate and massive scandals are simply not detected or exposed. Too often we have seen agencies, brands, auditors and legacy verification vendors only skim the surface of the problem, some due to lack of competence, some due to inertia, some because they have such a strong vested financial interest in the perpetuation of the system as it is. Commitment to the status quo continues to be the biggest barrier to creating a cleaner, sustainable and trustworthy digital ecosystem . It is important therefore to recognise and applaud the people and companies who are committed to exposing fraud and bad practices, and working towards a better digital advertising future.
