To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day, we asked some of our Actalent engineers around the world to share what they like most about being an engineer and why. Here’s what they shared and what makes them proud to be engineers. They also have some advice for women aspiring to grow their careers in engineering. 👩💻 🌎 Amrutha Davan CSM®,SLII® Alison Fraser Priyanka Goudar Janani Neelakantan #INWED2024 #womeninengineering #engineering #weareactalent #peopletopossible

International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), brought to you by Women’s Engineering Society (WES) celebrates its 11th year on the 23rd of June and we are proudly sharing some of our amazing women engineers across the Group. This year’s theme is 'enhanced by engineering'. INWED gives women engineers around the world a profile when they are still hugely under-represented, with 2021 figures indicating that in the UK only 16.5% of engineers are women. When approaching volunteers, we as a group wanted to learn as much as we can about the amazing women who work for our member companies. We recognise that the areas in which they work are typically male dominated, so we wanted to not only share their successes, but also learn from their experiences and find out if there is anything we as a group can do better to support them. We'll be sharing their stories over the next few days. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3KPKoMo #INWED24 #enhancedbyengineering #celnorgroup #womeninengineering #engineers

Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Today we celebrate all the women engineers that are breaking gender stereotypes, using their engineering skills to build a better world. Women who refuse to be limited by social norms but believing in themselves. The trailblazers, the intelligent and powerful who also serve as role models to future generations. May this be a celebration that engineering is not a gender industry but anyone including women can thrive in the exciting world of engineering. YES!!! It's being held again this year!!! The Women in Engineering - South Australia's International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED) Breakfast is on 25th June, with the theme being "#EnhancedbyEngineering". Only 13% of working engineers in Australia are women despite all the recent efforts increase gender diversity. Are women just not ‘programmed’ to be engineers? Or are companies not doing enough to encourage and support gender diversity? Is changing company recruitment policies the only way forward? Or does it cause more harm than good? I invite you to join us as we consider this theme in terms of workforce resourcing, and will pose the central discussion question in an interactive panel discussion: Can Your Workforce be Enhanced by Engineering your Recruitment? Last year this event was a sellout, so register your table, or come with a friend or colleague. Gender diverse audience encouraged!!! A Call to Action to Empower Women in Engineering On International Women in Engineering Day, we are pleased to announce our collaboration with Enginuity and senior representatives of organisations across STEM industries, to address the challenges faced by women in our sectors, increase gender diversity and tackle the issue of mid-career leavers. According to a recent study by Engineering UK, the proportion of women in engineering and technology roles has decreased from 16.5% to 15.7% in the past year, with a significant number of women leaving roles between the ages of 35 to 44. As a group, we have agreed to collaborate on the following key themes: - Communication campaign for attraction - Leadership & culture for retention - System/policy changes needed from Government By working together with Enginuity, CITB, Hennik Research Limited (part of Nineteen Group), Minicam, Women in Defence UK, Women's Engineering Society, Women in Transport, Women in Sustainability Network, and Women in Utilities, we can jointly take bigger steps towards greater inclusivity and representation in engineering and manufacturing. #BuiltOnBetter
