HubSpot Certified Trainer - Marketing Technology. Helping businesses to grow by making the most out of their full customer lifecycle. Generative AI
As a first-generation graduate, I stand here today with a heart filled with gratitude and a soul ignited by the flames of possibility... Education has been the cornerstone of my journey, the compass guiding me through the uncharted waters of life. Education didn't just furnish me with a degree; it bestowed upon me the wings of knowledge, enabling me to soar above the clouds of adversity and chart my own course amidst the vast expanse of existence. But beyond the certificates and accolades lies a deeper truth—an education is not merely a means to secure a livelihood; it is a beacon of hope, a gateway to empowerment, and a catalyst for change. Through education, we transcend the limitations of our circumstances, rewriting the narratives of our lives with ink dipped in the hues of ambition and resilience. It empowers us to challenge the status quo, to defy the odds, and to carve our names in history. In this spirit, I am proud to mention the HOLA scholarship program—an initiative dedicated to supporting the growth of Hispanic and Latinx communities and encouraging the pursuit of careers in technology. Programs like HOLA exemplify the power of collective action, providing pathways for individuals to not only dream but also to thrive in industries where their voices are often underrepresented. As I stand on the precipice of possibility, I am reminded of the countless souls whose dreams have yet to be ignited, whose voices have yet to be heard. It is for them that I raise my voice—a clarion call to embrace the transformative power of education, to believe in the boundless potential that lies within each and every one of us. So let us pledge to be the architects of our destinies, the custodians of knowledge, and the harbingers of change. Let us stand as beacons of inspiration, lighting the path for generations yet to come. It is education that illuminates our path, guiding us towards the shores of enlightenment and the shores of our dreams. Amidst today's changing landscape of technology, we're seated front row for a monumental shift in U.S. policy. In the past year, we've witnessed issues like artificial intelligence and data privacy dominate the political landscape, and watched congressional hearings with social media moguls & tech giants alike. Though Congress has made substantial progress in tech policy, this is only the beginning. To be prepared for the technology of tomorrow, our congressional leaders must be educated on the technology of today. Since 2015, TechCongress has worked to bridge the gap between technology and policy by placing computer scientists, engineers, and other technologists to serve as technology policy advisors to Members of Congress. With 9 years and 3 fellowship programs, we have sent over 95 fellows to Congress to conduct groundbreaking work in the tech policy space. As we reach the halfway mark with our 2024 cohort, we're ready to do it all over again with a new class of technologists. Today, we're opening applications for our January 2025 Congressional Innovation Fellowship. We're on the lookout for up to 16 early and mid-career engineers, computer scientists, and technologists to join us in our mission to bring technical expertise to the Hill. Applications are open between now and August 5th, 2024. Though we're excited to get to know you, we know you might want to get to know us first. Over the next few months, we'll be hosting informational calls, sharing current & past fellows' testimonials, and providing insights on both the fellowship & our organization as a whole. To make sure you don't miss out, be sure to follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter/X (@congressfellows). We've also compiled a variety of application & fellowship resources here: https://lnkd.in/e34ycYcQ Let's bridge the gap together: https://lnkd.in/dktVtdv #TechPolicy #PolicyOpportunities #GovernmentJobs #TechJobs #CivicTech #PublicInterestTech #GovTech #GovFellowships #TechFellowships #TechForGood #Government #nowhiring #GovernmentOpportunities #TechOpportunities #Fellowship

Though we're searching for future TechCongress fellows, our current cohort's achievements are impressive and well worth discussing. Jason Liang is member of the January 2024 Congressional Innovation Fellowship cohort and is currently serving with Representative Don Beyer (D-VA-08). Prior to joining TechCongress, Jason worked as a product lead at Scale AI, where he assisted various organizations in building and deploying AI systems into production. Jason has carried over his technical expertise into his current position with Rep. Don Beyer, as he now focuses on #AI #policy in the context of #cybersecurity, #automation and the future of work, use and ethics, & #dataprivacy. We're so impressed to see all he's been able to accomplish in the first half of his fellowship, and can't wait to see what comes next! Check out Jason's post below to get a better idea of what a "typical" day on the Hill looks like for our TechCongress fellows ⬇️ Ready to have your own 'day on the Hill'?
