Exciting news: The Disability Equality Index®'s global expansion to seven additional countries made it to Forbes! Disability:IN recognizes the role that the Disability Equality Index plays in empowering businesses to drive positive change in the countries they operate in. There’s a clear, demonstrated need for a benchmarking tool that can be adapted for differing cultural contexts, and we are proud to expand the index globally to help more businesses track their progress over time, set realistic priorities, and measure their performance to others - facilitating continuous improvement in #DisabilityInclusion efforts. With the Disability Equality Index's expansion, we are excited to elevate the #Disability conversation globally to create a lasting, positive impact within business. Today Disability:IN announced the 2024 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion as part of the Disability Equality Index (DEI). The aim of the DEI is to "provide the most comprehensive benchmarking tool for disability inclusion." Additionally, the Disability Equality Index 2024 Report provides data on the disability inclusion journey of business and organizations around the world. I am happy to work for, and previously worked for, 4 different organizations which have for another year scored 100 on the DEI Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion including Xcel Energy, Amazon, Huntington National Bank, and American Red Cross! But as a good reminder, Disability:IN states, "A score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index does not indicate or imply perfection. There is always room to advance disability inclusion regardless of one’s score. A score of 100 indicates adherence to many leading disability inclusion practices." Find a list of all 542 companies on the DEI: https://lnkd.in/gu6xACgM and view the 2024 DEI Report: https://lnkd.in/gAW6kzBK #DEI #Disability #Inclusion #DisabilityInclusion #ESG #DisabilityIN #BestPlacesToWork

As the head of Digital Accessibility at MillerKnoll, I'm proud our organization is included on the Disability:IN 2024 Disability Equality Index Report as one of the "Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion". Teams and individuals across MillerKnoll work to support the disabled community and our disabled colleagues in many physical and digital ways, and I'm humbled by those commitments. However, a score of 100 does not mean we (or any other recipient) have made a perfect showing. This report is more of a tool to bring awareness and drive change than it is to objectively score multi-national corporations on individual experiences in their workplaces. Supporting the disability community and having inclusive workplaces is a journey that we should all be driving forward on, regardless of score or reporting. https://lnkd.in/gahXhtiV #deib #digitalaccessibility #inclusion

A report by Accenture in partnership with Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities states that organizations that implement disability-inclusive policies and practices tend to outperform their peers. This year’s report looked at 346 U.S. companies that participated in the Disability Equality Index. Companies that incorporated disability-inclusive practices had 1.6 times more revenue and 2.6 times more net income. #policies #report #changes #organizations #disabilities
