Ever since I started researching #biorock and how to restore more quickly the coral reefs on man-made structures, I meet marine biologists. In this specific talk some things strike me: 1. Do you meet many scientists who cry over something? Who feel emotion for their work and share that emotion? Is it purpose, passion, heart? Is it feminine or masculine soul? Is it important to share that passion? TED Talks think it is important. Radically groundbreaking inspiration never comes from the rational, left brainstorm and filled in spreadsheets. It comes from the heart or intuition or whatever you call it... Words are just words and open for interpretation... 2. Corals not only survive, they thrive again. Fully regenerated 🌍 Gaia Theory. Cell biology (Dr. Lynn Margulis) Nuclear physics. (Dr. James Lovelock). If only we design safer environments. How is that with humans? Can we fully restore our spirit even after something bad happens at work? How do you facilitate that as a leader? Can we have your inspiring leadership stories, please? So we can learn from one another... 3. Corals are living beings doing everything we do (cell division, making choices) with other senses than ours. But they do have sharp senses. How do you use your senses in life and work? Do you ever take time to train your senses and observation powers? Do you notice life around you? What do you notice? Generalisations? Details? Do you ever change your mind. Or does your mind immediately take you back to safe, comfortable territory? Let's do some rethinking today. Ecological Network of Singing Insects in Kyoto Since ancient times, Kyoto has had a culture of enjoying the sound of singing insects. The decline of grasslands in the river basin has become a crisis for this culture. In Kyoto, efforts are being made to regenerate an ecological network mainly in river areas where green spaces remain, using these singing insects as indicator species.
