This is Jeremy with the Vt Group of companies. I work as an energy advisor and one of the tests that I do when I'm out doing energy evaluations, it's called the blower door test. Just wanted to show you the equipment that I use for that. So I've got frame set up here with the red cover to seal off the door opening. I've got my blower door fan and then up here is a pressure pressure gauge and this is essentially going to tell us the difference between the inside and outside. Pressure. So what we use this setup for is to determine how leaky or airtight a building is and we can run it at a certain pressure difference between inside and outside. And based on how hard the fans working and the volume of air in your house we can get an air change rate. Another thing we do while this system set up and running is we look for air leaks in the building envelope. So we use a tool like this fogging tool here. Go around and look at any weak spots in the envelope. And we checked to see where air might be coming in.
