📄 The first factsheet from the SESA Project Sustainable Energy Solutions Catalogue is dedicated to #emobility. 🚘 Sustainable #electricmobility (e-mobility) encompasses a set of solutions in which innovative #electricvehicle technologies and business models are combined to improve mobility services in cities, periurban and rural areas. Though e-mobility solutions are only recently emerging in 🌍 #Africa they are likely to play a key role in the transition to #sustainable and inclusive mobility in the region. 🔍 The factsheet focuses on light electric vehicles (#EVs) such as e-motorcycles, e-tuk-tuks or tricycles, e-bicycles, and e-cargo bikes. These are the most common types of EVs deployed in African urban and rural areas, where 2- and 3-wheeled vehicles represent an important means of #transport. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I am thrilled to announce that our research project has been chosen as one of the top 6 participants in the "Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Sustainable Yachting Technology Award" introduced by The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco.   The main objective of this award is to introduce innovations that align with the principles of sustainability, environmentally responsible technologies, emission reduction, and energy efficiency applicable to the yachting sector.   Our innovation involves producing hydroxy gas (HHO) using an advanced approach to electrolyzing with a pulse width modulation (PWM) device applied to a series of dry, small-gap plates. This method improves production rates and reduces power consumption. HHO gas is introduced as a secondary fuel in gasoline engines, which increases engine efficiency and performance while reducing emissions.   I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Morsy El-Gohary, President of Borg Al Arab Technological University, for his invaluable supervision of the project. We are proud to contribute to this goal with our financing for Norwegian mobility infrastructure: KfW IPEX-Bank provided a NOK 1,148 million green loan for the Norwegian Bane NOR Eiendom for the extension and refurbishment of maintenance workshops. “Revolutionizing transportation for a greener tomorrow starts with strategic partnerships and investments”, says Belgin Rudack, CEO of KfW IPEX-Bank. “Through these partnerships, we aim to catalyze the shift towards cleaner, more efficient public transport systems, ultimately contributing to a greener CO2 neutral society and economy.” This investment will enable services for longer passenger trainsets with a length of 220+ meters and increase overall efficiency, contributing to sustainable public transport in Norway.
