Last week, we hosted our first "Bring Your Kids to Work Day" at our A2 Bio campus in Agoura Hills, CA. It was heartwarming to see 32 kids having so much fun learning about our science and exploring our facilities. Special thanks to our A2 Bio volunteers for making a great work experience for kids, inspiring them to be curious about their future careers and have fun. The kids participated in hands-on science experiments, had the opportunity to tour our labs, and hear from A2 leaders on what inspired them to pursue a career in biotechnology.

Science is not for scientists only! 🧬 The #Know4Nano project officially kicked off on October 1st, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this cutting-edge initiative! Coordinated by BioSense Institute and my colleague Vasa Radonic and funded by #HorizonEurope, Know4Nano brings together great minds from across Europe. 🚀
We were delighted to welcome our project partners to the BioSense Institute, including representatives from: Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) 🇪🇸, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche 🇮🇹 and University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague)🇨🇿. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate in person and define next steps.
The project’s mission? To revolutionize the way we approach food safety by developing innovative biosensors that can detect foodborne pathogens at every stage of the farm-to-fork chain. This isn’t just about technology—it’s about harnessing nanotechnology to make our food systems safer and smarter! 💪🏻
As the leader of Work Package 6, I’m excited to take charge of Communication, Dissemination, and Outreach, making sure that the incredible work we will be doing reaches communities, researchers, industries far and wide, and general public. 🙌🏽

Meet Audrey Browning! Join us in welcoming her to the Bioversity family as she embarks on a mission to make a positive impact within the biotech industry.🔭🧬
Audrey Browning:
Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation?
Hearing about a science program was exciting. Science has always been an exciting subject in school. The best part was always doing different experiments. You would learn something new everyday. From working with electrics, to food, to math. To me it was always like a mixture of every subject in one. I hope to achieve a lot of knowledge about today's science. I feel like every year there’s something new to learn about.
What do you expect from this program, both in terms of skill development and personal growth?
I expect to learn about healthy and better products and ideas of manufacturing. I want to grow and gain knowledge from this program.

Here's to a fantastic journey ahead with Bioversity! 👏

For those of you who are bio-curious but don't know how or where to start, this one's for you. Our Civic Science charity, BioQuisitive Ltd is finally reopening its doors after a long slumber.
We're strong believers in praxis, the process of applying theory, lessons or skills in an enacted, embodied, relational context. We see this space as a 'Living Laboratory' exploring curiosity and challenge-led educational approaches at the intersection of biology, design, and technology.
We'll be co-creating workshops that are intended to provide hands-on learning experiences in Synthetic Biology, Biomaterials, Cell Culturing and Biomanufacturing.
We are also exploring the co-creation of a biodesign studio where people can collaborate with living systems on projects that embody the principles of biological and ecological design.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us through the revival process! Your countless hours of help, equipment donations and financial support have been essential to bring this lab back to life. 💕

#BIO is one of the biggest conferences in the scientific world — and brings together a massive community of folks tackling some of the most complex problems on this planet. It reminds me how transformative community and storytelling are in the biotech space. After 10+ years navigating the intersections of #biotech and #deeptech, I've learned that making complex innovations accessible and engaging can be the difference between success and its opposite.
We’ve been working with the great folks at Decoding Bio to tell the story about what it means to not just build community around biological initiatives, but to write and push the story forward in surprising ways. A space that exemplifies the power of inclusivity in science. It's a resource that lowers barriers, allowing more people to engage with the latest research and developments. This kind of accessibility is what we strive for at Bunsen, where we help biotech companies tell their stories with clarity and purpose.
I'm eager to connect with innovators looking to amplify their impact. If you’re at #BIO24 and want to discuss how your design and story can captivate and inform, let’s chat. Bunsen is all about tailor-fitting narratives that take your company’s story to the next level.
