These may help protect the heart by neutralizing oxidized LDL, which forms plaque inside the arteries.    🥑AVOCADOS: Healthy fats, like those found in avocados, are essential to a healthy heart. Despite avocados’ high fat content, the fat is heart healthy and monounsaturated. Avocados are also rich in fiber, potassium and magnesium, all nutrients associated with heart health.    🍫DARK CHOCOLATE: Chocolate is typically considered a dessert food, but dark chocolate is rich in nutrients. Dark chocolate is packed with flavanols, which is a natural antioxidant compound that benefits the heart, helps with cell rebuilding and can help lower blood pressure. Be sure to eat dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa to reap its benefits.    🍣OILY FISH: Fatty fish, like salmon, is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, which aid in lowering blood pressure and reducing fats in the bloodstream while also lowering triglycerides and easing inflammation. If you don’t enjoy seafood, fish oil supplements offer many of the same benefits.

Business-meeting on a strawberry field? Yes, please! The health benefits of a lunch-time exercise are well-known, and so are the health benefits of a moderate sunshine, and fresh air. I lived out of my '68 Dodge Dart from getting my learner's permit at fifteen until a few days after my seventeenth birthday, at which point I got an apartment a few streets down from Wendy's. At that time the restaurant offered a full, three-segment salad bar as part of the menu. The closest I ever got to it was throwing the Frisbee shaped sliced beets at other employees. Another fortuitous event to live with a dry cleaner. I filled up on fries and chicken nuggets and 64oz tubs of carbonated soda. It wasn't until about two years later that I discovered what a huge difference eating raw vegetables and items not submersed in boiling oil made in one's health. When I recall just how much better and energetic I could have been years earlier - for free, no less, because that's why one works at a restaurant - I can do nothing but laugh. I don't regret it. I'm alive now and healthy as I should be at forty-five. No time is spent at pharmacies procuring prescriptions for anything. I'm not out of breath after three flights of stairs despite smoking a pack of Camel Blue 99s every three days. A teenage body can make use of anything that is put into it as fuel. But I am cognizant. In case you haven't figured this out yet, I encourage you to at least test run for a month a change in your pre-packaged fast food habits. For the record, I didn't start smoking tobacco until I was thirty-three and am not planning on necessarily continuing, depending on future events. It makes sense now. Entomologists will also argue that certain bugs are high in some essential nutrients and protein. It is a sound, reasonable stance to take. So if you're resistant to garden fresh gourmet, I won't actively give you shit about it. There aren't any scorpion lollipops in our pantry. In closing, one of my favorite movie quotes is made by Bruce Willis. It is from an uncredited cameo appearance where he tells the main lead role to "shut up and eat his shit" after discussing the U.S. law that hot dogs can be up to one percent rat feces. Chow!
