Children are the future – they are tomorrow's workforce, consumers, advocates, and leaders. Yet, they are so often invisible in impact investment strategies and decision-making. Our very own Lindsay Smalling teamed up with Erin Egan (UNICEF USA Impact Fund for Children) to explore where impact on children is already apparent in three major sectors: off-grid energy, agriculture, and microfinance. Find out more about how we can more intentionally bring a child lens to impact investing and impact measurement: https://lnkd.in/e8xe7PnD Thanks for the feature ImpactAlpha!

At ASA, we're keeping a constant finger on the pulse of emerging non-degree models and how #philanthropy and #impactinvesting are paving the way for them. As you may recall, we announced our impact investment strategy back in 2022, in which we've pledged to invest up to $125 million in organizations increasing access to #careerreadiness learning. There are lots of different perspectives on how such investments should be approached. At last year's #ASUGSVSummit, Rilwan M., our VP of Mission Impact Investing, moderated a panel discussion focused on highlighting some of these models, featuring insights from various experts who are doing this important work. As we anticipate more of these discussions in 2024, take a look at some of the ideas and models these folks provided. Which ones stand out to you as the most promising? https://bit.ly/3u5Lj6C

NEW: Foundations have a rich history of prioritizing impact in their resource allocation decisions for grant-making. With the rise of #impactinvesting among foundations, it's crucial for practitioners to grasp and compare the impact management approaches for grants (focused on monitoring, evaluation, and learning) versus investments (think impact measurement and management) in order to assess whether their interventions are achieving desired objectives. Our recent publication, created in collaboration with The Rockefeller Foundation, shines a spotlight on the Foundation’s Zero Gap Fund, an impact investing collaborative with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Their Zero Gap Fund: State of the Portfolio annual report was assessed by BlueMark in 2021. This piece offers insight into impact measurement and management practices used by impact investors. It also discusses broader trends within the impact investment community, emphasizes the significance of independent verification and benchmarking, and highlights opportunities for mutual learning between impact measurement and management professionals and monitoring, evaluation, and learning experts.
