Last week, XPRIZE visited the UAE to see us capturing CO2 and turning it into rock in the mountains of Fujairah. Our Direct Air Capture + Mineralisation project with Aircapture was named one of #XPRIZECarbonRemoval's Top 20 finalists earlier this year, and we were delighted to show the XPRIZE team our technology in action. This is the first phase of our scale up in the UAE, and a step forward towards carbon mineralisation at commercial scale.     #Mineralisation #DAC #CDR

Exciting news to see this development happening in Oman! It opens up a great opportunity to consider the next step—utilizing CO2 for the production of DME (dimethyl ether). DME is one of the most effective solvents for enhancing oil recovery, particularly in heavy oil reservoirs, by significantly improving production performance over months. Similar approaches are currently being tested in Alberta, Canada, presenting a promising avenue for exploration and innovation in Oman’s oil recovery techniques.

Exciting news. I hope the demonstration was a success and scale-up goes as planned.
