Blue Whale EV is excited to have been nominated as an Honoree of this year’s Baltimore Business Journal’s 2024 Inno Fire Awards in the Baltimore region. This year's honorees reflect the constantly changing Maryland technology ecosystem. Maryland Inno takes a big tent approach to innovation. These awards celebrate technology-focused companies ranging from startups to nonprofit institutions. An innovative company is not necessarily just a firm that creates a new invention but also encompasses companies that take an existing technology and use it in a new way. This year's awardees range from an organization building new ways to monitor seizures to a nonprofit using virtual reality to help train people for new jobs in the automotive industry. The eight winners from three different categories will be honored at the Inno Fire Awards ceremony on July 11 at the CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield tower in Canton and two honorees will be selected as this year's Blazer Award winners. https://bizj.us/1qldlr #InnoFireAwards2024 #EVChargingSolutions #bluewhaleEV #EVInfrastructure #CleanEnergy

Advisor | Speaker | Facilitator | Investor // I advise startup founders, build ecosystems, create pathways for efficient commercialization, and accelerate the quality of innovation economies around the world.
TLDR: Frisco's innovators have defined what makes the region unique and developed challenge statements to drive innovation. Come meet these visionaries and be part of our innovation journey. Frisco, TX is known as Sports City USA, but what does that really mean for innovation? Recently, we gathered a group of highly engaged stakeholders from across Frisco's innovation economy at the PGA of America HQ to explore this question and more. In partnership with Stadia Ventures and the Frisco Economic Development Corporation, we set out to understand how innovation flows through the region and where it faces obstacles. Our approach prioritizes human connection over equity transactions (though we love those too!). We brought together top-level stakeholders to discuss problem statements in an open, safe environment. From these discussions and thousands of data points, we determined Frisco's "Locus of Relevancy" - what makes the region unique and how specific technologies and business models can accelerate their development here better than anywhere else in the world. The outcome? We've defined shared challenge statements that our stakeholders can rally around - challenges that resonate with everyone. At the end of October (date coming soon), we're inviting the global innovation community to present their tech solutions. For each challenge, we're seeking a mix of researchers, startups with emerging tech, and organizations working with mature technologies. Curious about the challenges? Check out the link in the post below or keep an eye on my future posts where we'll talk more in depth about each one and what's next. If these align with your work, apply via the link or drop me a DM with any questions.
Frisco is at the forefront of innovation, and we're excited to announce the upcoming Collision Day with our friends at the Frisco Economic Development Corporation this October!! This event is a unique opportunity for researchers, startups, and enterprises to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and solutions across multiple challenge statements. Join us to engage with top investors, civic leaders, and industry experts across North Texas. Whether you're pioneering new research or deploying mature technologies, Collision Day is your platform to shine. Apply now to be part of this transformative event and help shape the future of innovation in Frisco! Amidst countless discussions with fellow founders, investors, and friends, a fundamental question surfaces time and again: What fuels our commitment to Vitrinnea? Why do we dedicate ourselves to this endeavor day in and day out? In pondering this question, I realized that my passion for Vitrinnea stems from a profound belief in community empowerment. It's about creating a platform by the people, for the people—a space where individuals can come together to support one another by sharing resources and opportunities. I envision a future where technology transcends barriers, enabling us to connect and exchange possessions with our fellow Central Americans. Imagine the transformative impact if, instead of prioritizing corporations, we chose to empower individuals. What if we shifted our perspective from "my possessions" to "how can I benefit others with what I have"? By fostering a culture of communal trade, we unlock opportunities for income generation across the value chain, elevate household incomes, promote sustainable practices, and cultivate a brighter future for generations to come. When we unearth the profound "why" behind our endeavors, our vision crystallizes, guiding us on a path toward meaningful impact. So, I urge every founder to reflect deeply: Why are you pursuing what you do? #community #startups #technology #latam

Investor | Entrepreneur | Research Scientist | Innovator | Board Director | Strategic Advisor | Startup Champion
Who are the movers and shakers??!? Yesterday was certainly an action-packed day, featuring a “tripleheader” events! I had the honor of speaking on the Venture Funding panel at the Bullpen, moderating the Early Stage Life Sciences Investing panel at the Venture Forum, and hosting The Big Idea CONNECTpreneur Community CONNECTails Signature event. The most memorable moment of the day was at the CONNECTails event. Tien Wong introduced me as a “mover and shaker” and then literally gifted me a maraca! It was a fun and unexpected moment that perfectly encapsulated the energy and excitement of the day (and highlighted what nerds we all are). The entire day though was filled with delightful moments, and thanks to the incredible individuals and investors I had the opportunity to speak with–my fellow “movers and shakers” if you will! So instead of my usual event recaps, I’d like to introduce you to these incredible people. Based on the quality of our conversations, I’d say Tien is going to need a lot more maracas! People to know: Christiaan Engstrom at Bullpen Salvatore Buscemi at Brahmin Partners Ayah Hamdan at Plug and Play Tech Center Anne DeGheest at HealthTech Capital Kathy Tune at Capita3 Eric S. Helping to bring biomanufactured products to market faster🚀 | Strategic advisor and fractional CSO/CTO | ex-Vow, ex-NIH
🚀 Help Needed: Building a Database of Shared Wet-Lab Facilities for Biomanufacturing Startups! Hey network! Over the last three months, I've been busy creating resources specifically tailored for founders and startups in the biomanufacturing space. So far, these resources have focused on cell line and media development, bioprocess optimization, and building out an IP framework. The next resource on my list is a comprehensive database of shared wet-lab spaces available to founders to start building their MVPs. These spaces are often found in incubators, accelerators, or offer bench/room rentals. Getting access to wet-lab space is crucial during this early stage. 🧪 Examples of spaces already on my radar: Australia & APAC CoLabs Australia, Jumar Bioincubator, NSG BioLabs US LabCentral, LA BioSpace, Pasadena Bio Collaborative Incubator, LifeSpace Labs UK & Europe Life Science Factory, ShareLab, The Cultured Hub But I know there must be many more out there! 🌍 💡 ASK: If you’ve worked in or know of a shared wet-lab space, please tag them below. If you run a shared lab, tag yourself and let us know what makes your space unique! Please share widely and let's crowdsource a valuable resource for the community! 🙌
