**R E B O O T H A C K A T H O N 🚀** WOW – what an incredible day for my first Reboot experience! The excitement is still buzzing, and I am thoroughly impressed by the organisation and dedication that made this event a huge success. The Hackathon presented two highly relevant scenarios for participants to tackle, and it was inspiring to watch teams collaborate and innovate on their solutions. There were numerous talks and workshops to choose from, each with a helpful guide indicating the technical knowledge required. I attended two fantastic sessions: 'API Economy Trends' and 'Modernising with Cloud.' Both were highly informative and engaging. With over 1000 attendees, including LBG colleagues and partners, and sponsorship from Google and Sapient, the event was truly remarkable. Wow, the #AWS Marketplace Seller Conference 2024 in Bellevue, WA 🌇 was a transformative experience! 🚀 As an Edtech Strategy Business Development Manager at AWS, I had the privilege of attending this incredible event and connecting with some of the brightest minds in the industry. The conference showcased the rapid evolution of the AWS Marketplace and AWS's unwavering commitment to empowering partners to scale their businesses. From tailored content for diverse audiences to API-driven marketplace innovation, every aspect was carefully curated to drive success. 🌟 The standout moments for me were the partner meetings. Working with partners like Pluralsight, Kaltura, and Carahsoft was truly inspiring. 💪 But it wasn't just the partner interactions that left a lasting impression. The internal sessions were packed with invaluable insights. While the jamon, croquettes, and cold beverages felt familiar, seeing MWC through a Slalom lens let me observe the gap between #carrier, #cloud, #application, and #dataanalytics provider. The view garnered thoughts of how they could sync for optimal value.    Each of those entities has a unique story around #monetization of the network, use of #networkapi's, and their individual #valuerealization.  With this perspective in mind, I removed my nerd hat, and put on my customer hat, forming an empathetic question of "how can I find my #Goldilocks in this mass of Papa and Mama bears' houses?"     Goldilocks or “just right” in this context is the art of balancing the network with applications’ needs in direct context. Optimally combining (#convergence) the pieces is how one can obtain maximum value over time. This can be difficult if one’s competency is limited to one area as the new world hints that these #competencies and tech be aware of one another at the onset.    At MWC, there were the piece parts to enable a value rich portfolio of solutions, but what's the right combination of #network, #application, #cloud, and so forth to reach that optimal solution? That's the question we're targeting at Slalom to ensure #optimalperformance and #optimalexperience.     Among a host of thoughts, a few themes continued as I walked through the maze of brilliant booths as follows: 1.      Value from APIs – What's the total value when the pieces harmonize across a converged thought process?   2.      #usecases – Is that value “1+1=3” when the solution is constructed in a converged way and what are the pieces for each #usecase? 3.      "#Techlanguage" barrier – How do we converge the competencies to ensure one piece isn’t “talking” past another piece? MWC validated the need that is front of mind for Slalom to converge the pieces from ideation through production, turning the “OSI Stack” into a flowing “OSI Funnel”. Building on our existing #peoplecentric approach, Slalom is tackling #convergence to ensure the #nextgeneration produces value quickly and garners optimal experiences with longevity in a converged mindset. Come hell or high water, I ensure my presence there. The proof is in the pudding: for the 2019 edition, I found myself in an operating room getting my appendix removed when I was supposed to be on my flight to the US. But not even that could keep me away. The very next day, I was on my way to Seattle, with antibiotics, med pack, and gauze in tow, because missing out was simply not an option. This event is not just another conference. It's a testament to our resilience, passion, and dedication to the tech community and to each other.
