After completing a successful Corporate Partnerships Masterclass series with The Wheel in June, we're delighted to be delivering it again this October. If you're currently working in fundraising and are interested in approaching a new corporate partner, but are unsure of where to start, this Masterclass is for you. In this 4-part series, you will discover: - What corporates want from charity partnerships - How to align your partnership offer to help address current business challenges - How to develop a prospect target list that will give you the best chance of success - How to build and deliver a brilliant pitch - The tools and inspiration you will need to win long-term, high value partnerships. "This masterclass was absolutely incredible. Denise was able to delve deep into very comprehensive material but also allow for time for break-out rooms. The pacing of the class never felt rushed, but equally there was plenty of material to sink our teeth into. I couldn’t recommend this masterclass enough.” - Feedback from our previous Corporate Partnerships Masterclass. Interested in joining us? In my early days in corporate fundraising, I did this too! There are many reasons why at the time I didn't make the ask when I had the opportunity. And if you've ever done this, you probably have a bunch of reasons too. I definitely know better now, and I'm thinking you do too! 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞: you need to know what you offer and alignment area before you go into the call. Being crystal clear on what this is, will give you confidence. 2. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: Practice the objections. Practice how you’re going to deal with different parts of a call. Talk through possible answers and an exit strategy or two. 3. 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Believe in yourself; you can excel as a corporate fundraiser. Seek support if needed, tap into others’ confidence. Remember it takes practice. Consider teaming up for added confidence. Why your board members must support your corporate sponsorship drive. Your board members are far more connected than you think. Some have worked in top organizations where they've made some great contacts. Others have owned businesses and are quite acquainted with business owners across the country, state, and nation. Another group might have relatives and friends who own businesses. Not tapping into this rich network is leaving money on the table and not taking advantage of the leverage points available to your organization. This is why you must train your board members on corporate sponsorship, equip them with the tools they need, and hold them accountable to harness their network for the funding of the organization. Aside from harnessing their network, your board members can work with you to recruit your fundraising team and serve as supervisors, overseers, and even as a member of the fundraising team. But for them to operate at this level, you must train them by bringing this knowledge to their consciousness, you must equip them with the tools they need to succeed whether it's the sponsorship proposal, fundraising appeals, advert copies, etc. And lastly, you must create a system to hold them accountable. With training, they may be motivated but not follow through. With only training and equipping them, they may follow through but fall off in no time but with all three Including accountability, you can hold them to the point where you all begin to see results. Reach out if you need help training, equipping and holding your board members accountable. #nonprofit #fundraising #nonprofitfundraising
