At 1000watt, we do a lot of research to keep us and our industry informed, and serve our clients in maintaining a strategic edge. Recently, we surveyed 1000 consumers to gauge their level of awareness regarding the class action lawsuits in our industry (removing real estate agents, brokers, investors, and those in the mortgage and title industries). Results confirm: there's some work to do. Agree that strategic communication, but more importantly mastery of the biz by people who choose to become real estate agents helps consumers identify exactly what it is that we do - help people into or out of their likely most valuable asset that also serves as shelter. Most people think we get a percentage for opening doors and putting a sign up in the yard, but if we are doing it RIGHT, we are working to earn every dollar we bring home and helping the client understand our value. Sometimes it doesn't happen in the initial consultation, it happens in the process. And if in the process we knock their socks off by making their lives easier and caring for their needs over a commission check, clients will become our #1 fans. I can safely say that there is not one person I've helped into that middle camp, and it should be our goal one agent, and one client at a time to help people see what we do in a different light. It's on us! Thank you for sharing the results.
