Interpreting non-verbal cues
- Have you ever heard someone talk but didn't believe what they were saying? You might have had a sense that something just didn't feel right. Perhaps they were saying yes, yet their heads were shaking no. The difference between the words people say and how we understand what they're saying comes from nonverbal communication, also known as body language, and if you've been training for some time, you recognize how participants react and receive the content more through body language rather than their verbal responses. Recognizing body language signs and signals allows you to better understand participants and communicate more effectively with them. This is an invaluable skill for trainers.
