Manufacturing supplier diversity is the process of Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) purchasing from small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) owned, managed, and controlled by traditionally under-represented groups. This course addresses supplier development at the two levels where it takes place: the process of developing SMM capabilities and capacities in core business process areas; and the integration of enabling technologies into core business process areas to foster competitiveness in Industry 4.0 data driven-driven supply chains. Each undertaking focuses on mature and maturing SMMs with which MNEs are engaged, and helping them understand MNEs’ needs and the imperative to make improvements. Join instructor David Burton as he shows how implementing SMM development can play an important role in supporting social responsibility and strengthening a company’s brand, ensuring that they comply with regulations and contractual requirements from customers.
