Harassment prevention is a company culture initiative

- When I say harassment prevention, what's the first word that comes into your mind? Was it training? Yep, training has become synonymous with harassment prevention. Training is good, but it's not enough. I want us to make your company culture the ultimate harassment prevention program, because a positive, respectful, and inclusive company culture creates an environment where harassment can't flourish. It creates peer pressure to treat each other with dignity, and when someone goes against that culture, the community will shut it down collectively. What I'm getting at is that your core values can be powerful drivers of behavior. If you don't have them, you need them. And if you have them but don't use them, it's time to start. Seriously, I've never seen a core value that made room for incivility, bullying or harassment. Assuming your company core values don't either, start bringing them to life and using them to drive behavior, that's what they're meant for. There's a million ways to…
