The rise of image generation apps

- If you type imagine, it will come. Over the past year generative AI text to image apps or what is known as text to image prompting have taken the world by storm. Midjourney is one of these apps. It was created by an independent research lab of the same name. Midjourney at the time of this recording is currently on version 6 Alpha. It is the most accurate and photorealistic version yet, but don't be shocked if you're looking at something that's even more in the future based on how quickly Midjourney updates. This is where you come in. By understanding how Midjourney works, you can see how it can be used in a variety of creative disciplines, including storyboards, UX mockup design, logo creation, seamless textures, assets for gaming and animation to name a few. Even if you are on the sidelines of this new technology, having a foundation in how Midjourney works can help foster continued informative dialogue that will shape this future of us as creatives. In this course, we'll take a look at setting up a Midjourney as well as Discord account. We'll learn how we can create images in Discord as well as directly on the Midjourney website by simply entering a text prompt, or using an image reference.
