- The bigger the deal, the longer and more expensive the integration will be. Know that when you're conducting acquisition activities, you need to be in it for the long haul. There will be unforeseen issues and cultural problems throughout the integration process. You should expect it. Take a long-term view of the business instead of viewing integration as a project. This will help employees have the right mindset in terms of generating long-term value instead of seeing it as a short-term project that they'll be done with and can move on to the next thing. As you go through integration, overcommunicate. Culture is going to be one of the biggest issues that can go wrong. If you're not communicating effectively to people throughout the integration, you create a lot of risk for culture to have issues.
