- A few years ago, I was facilitating Diversity and Inclusion training to mid-level supervisors and the rest of their staff. As they introduced themselves and I outlined the course objectives, I would then ask if anyone had questions before we dove into the session. I can recall many times that the first question to be asked was usually, "Have senior leaders attended this training?" I knew that the connotation was that if they hadn't attended, that this was not seen as a priority in the organization, thus wondering why they should take it seriously. And that was a fair question. The good news is, is that I was able to confirm that we had delivered training to the executive leaders first.
