- [Instructor] Opacity masks in Illustrator behave very similarly to a layer mask, such as you might add in Photoshop. If you understand those, you have a little bit of a head start here. However, there are differences, so do stick around. I'm going to just open the Layers Panel at the moment, so you can see what we have here. Well, perhaps most obviously, is we have the car. Then, we have this background, which is a group of two different objects. By the way, come back at some later point and examine the file in detail. There's a couple of surprises in there for you. Behind that, we have this very, very magenta background there. It's this background we'll be working in, not the background-background. This there which I've named it. Of course, BG being my abbreviation. This is what we're going to mask off. We're going to add a little bit of hazy feeling to these very, very tall buildings here. Let's go ahead and draw…
