Three-dimensional type

- In this video, I'm going to talk about how to use typography in three dimensions, 3D. But don't worry. You won't need any special glasses to watch this video. We can create three dimensional typographic effects on a flat surface, and then there is typography that is actually three dimensional, that you can walk around and view from different angles. And let's not forget typography in augmented reality and virtual reality. Programs like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator make it very easy to create three-dimensional effects using typography. There are plenty of great LinkedIn learning courses that can show you how to do that, but I'm going to talk about some pitfalls you should try to avoid. You want to make your 3D type really pop and be readable. Drop shadows, glows, highlights, outlines, extruded and bevel type, and combinations of fillers and effects can be overwhelming.
