- [Instructor] In 2020, Microsoft introduced a series of new functions that really changed the game. They addressed many of the issues we have with Excel for FP&A, most notably that we historically had to get very involved in manual updates of files, formulas, and data ranges. This new functionality was appropriately named Dynamic Arrays. These arrays or ranges of data expand and contract in the Excel field with minimal human intervention. This means that we can get ranges of data to update almost automatically and accommodate the needs we have in financial planning and analysis. Now, to begin with, let's highlight what the Dynamic Array functions are, what they do, and what they replace from traditional Excel. Let's begin with SEQUENCE.
