The four key components of a data story
- [Instructor] Let's talk about the four key components of a data story. First, a data story has a clear beginning, middle, and an end. Think of your favorite movie. The hero is taken on a journey. Next, we tell a data story with data visualization. That means charts and graphs. We don't just want to give a narrative to the audience. We actually want to show them. Next, we want to focus on simplicity and the key parts of the message. That means instead of showing them everything, we only want to show them the key points, and the way that we show them the key points is through things like annotation and highlighting. Now that you know how to build this data story, let's build our own in Excel.
