Overview of animation

- [Instructor] Welcome to the chapter on character animation. This is my favorite subject, and I'm so excited to show you how to bring the illusion of life to your 3D object. Now, this is a multi-step process, so we're going to start by preparing our 3D model for animation. We're going to add an armature, which acts as a 3D skeleton for our character. Where the armature bones move, the 3D object will bend and move along with it. Then we're going to explore shape keys and see how they can add a little bit of extra oomph to our character. And then finally, we're going to set our very first key frames and explore some tools like the Pose Library, and see how they can help you animate even quicker. I'm really excited for this chapter, and I can't wait to get started. So let's get animating.
