- [Instructor] We're staying in our MetalPlate_001.DWG file, and in this particular video, we're going to take a look at how we can place a gradient fill. So go to your layers panel, click on the fly out, and select gradient fill, this time as your current drafting layer. Now it's always good to have your gradient fills and your hatching on separate layers. Now you'll notice the gradient fill layer has the same color assigned to it as the hatching layer that we used in the previous video. Don't worry about the color of the layer for your gradient fills, because your gradient fills are set up with independent colors within the gradient command. So let's see how that works. So again, we're in the home tab on the ribbon, draw panel over here on the left. Click on the fly out, and select gradient. Now you'll notice the hatch creation tab on the ribbon appears again.
