This position supports internal project teams with clients seeking green building and wellness certifications for large-scale commercial, industrial, health care, and multi-family residential buildings. Projects include high profile buildings with sophisticated design and development teams. Applicants must have direct experience in sustainability with an architecture, building science or design or construction background, knowledge of LEED and the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires a self-starter with keen attention to detail and effective organizational skills. Candidates must be deadline driven with the ability to excel whether working independently or collaboratively.
This role will report directly to the director of operations with dashed line reporting to the vice president of sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Support projects pursuing sustainability and wellness objectives, including third party certifications such as LEED and WELL, from inception through operation
Perform drawing reviews to ensure sustainability and wellness are integrated into project design
Examine and provide critical feedback on project documentation and construction process with sustainability in mind
Assist in educating trade partners on submittal process and requirements
Review, comment, and create sustainability and wellness related submittals
Remain current on changes to sustainability and wellness programs and broader trends in the industry
Aid in the production of high-quality deliverables that are submitted on or ahead of schedule
Interface with third party certification organizations such as GBCI
Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A. in engineering, architecture, building science, environmental science or equivalent
Minimum 1-2 years of work or academic experience in sustainability within the built environment
Exemplary project management skills with an emphasis on schedule and deliverables
Knowledge of the LEED Rating System including LEED BD+C V4 and V4.1 - NC, CS and CI
Familiarity with drawings and specifications
Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Excellent written and oral communication capabilities
Preferred:
LEED Green Associate accreditation
Knowledge of WELL, Fitwel and Living Building Challenge. Experience with TRUE, Passive House, Green Globes, or other third-party certifications is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of building systems
Proficiency in developing presentations
