Our client is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations and will assist the Controller in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and the month-end closing process. A critical finance team member, the Staff Accountant will ultimately be responsible for ensuring day-to-day transactions are properly accounted for.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries
Review transactions for accuracy
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
Prepare bank account reconciliations including clearing accounts
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist with month-end closing processes
Review accounts payable & credit card expense coding
Review sales tax reporting and coordinate with outside sales tax reporting service
Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits
Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field
2+ years of staff accountant experience
Strong MS Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP system required. Nolan ABR experience is highly desirable.
Proactive, self-motivated, takes initiative and ability to work independently
Organized and excellent follow-through a must; detail-oriented and deadline-driven
