Role Overview


Wheels Up is looking for a world-class Product Manager in Chamblee, GA to join our team of dedicated and passionate professionals, fueled by the most powerful brand in private aviation, as we continue our mission of democratizing the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings.

Wheels Up is on a mission to democratize the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings. With the Wheels Up App, anyone can search, book, and fly on private aircraft from the world's largest marketplace of safety-vetted and verified planes, totaling over 1,500, whenever they have a travel need. It's as easy as booking an Uber or an Airbnb.


In February 2021, Wheels Up entered into a merger agreement with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) called Aspirational Consumer Lifestyle Corp. to become a publicly traded company. At that time, Wheels Up was appraised at an enterprise valuation north of $2B. In January 2020, we entered a groundbreaking partnership with Delta, which combined Delta Private Jets to expand our fleet and offer guaranteed nationwide coverage. This enabled us to provide unparalleled experiences across private and commercial air travel. We also acquired our longtime partner Gama Aviation in March 2020, making us the largest Part 135 operator in the U.S. and one of the world's largest private aviation operators and aircraft management companies. And in January 2021, we acquired Mountain Aviation, the largest Part 135 operator of Citation X Super-Mid Jets in the U.S. These developments, coupled with our previous acquisitions of Avianis, a leading tech company in our space, have accelerated the development of our next-level digital platform. Wheels Up is building a solid technical community of Principal engineers who will set the standard for engineering excellence. The community comprises the Principal, Senior Principal, and Distinguished Engineers responsible for driving overall technical vision and architecture. They work on the most complex problems, building high-quality, architecturally sound systems aligned with our business needs. They remain hands-on and lead by example. By being close to the details, they earn the respect needed to be effective technical leaders. Principal Engineers bring clarity to complexity and demonstrate intelligent ways to simplify. They are not only technical leaders at Wheels Up, but by participating/initiating open-source projects and working with the true spirit of open source, they will be considered technical leaders across the globe.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and membership research to uncover user needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand the business priorities, objectives, timelines, and stakeholder needs
  • Develop and prioritize product requirements to deliver innovative digital products
  • Work with UX to design elegant and intuitive digital products
  • Work with development & QA using agile methodology to ensure on-time delivery


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Product Manager experience within the travel industry
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple initiatives
  • Problem-solver with a penchant for efficiency
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with evolving process
  • Keen interest in innovation and technology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Agile development methodology experience
  • 3 – 5 years in digital product management on web and apps
  • Degree or certification in related engineering subjects

Salary Range

The wage range for this position ($161,700 - $231,000) is determined on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, such as differences in skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This wage range has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with where the position may be filled. At Wheels Up, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Your placement within the wage range is primarily based on your qualifications and experience.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
