  • The Process Control Engineer is responsible for providing reliable DCS operation in the areas of hardware and software support, including upgrades, backups, performance tracking, administration, and security.
  • Responsible for operation enhancements and improving automation in the compounding unit.
  • Main point of contact for day-to-day controls optimization and improvement of the compounding unit.
  • In addition, the Process Control Engineer will be responsible for providing support and assistance for plant DCS systems as needed throughout all operations.
  • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree (Electrical, Electronic or Chemical desired), OR equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 yrs of hands-on experience working with instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with development and execution of small capital projects.
  • Knowledge of DCS or PLC hardware and software support, including upgrades, backups, performance tracking, and administration and security.
  • Ability to evaluate data and provide related maintenance activity and frequency reports.
  • Ability to train Operations staff in system, to achieve effective utilization of the DCS.


Desirable Knowledge /Skills

  • Experience working on instrumentation and control systems common to manufacturing industry (flow meters, pressure indicators, control valves).
  • Familiarity with Honeywell TDC 3000, Honeywell Experion, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and software such Plantstate Suite, PI, or Visio.
  • Experience in identification of instrumentation, analyzer, and interface malfunctions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing computer or control system hardware.
  • Ability to read and understand basic logic and loop diagrams.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations (chemical, refining, etc.) and associated safe work practices.
  • Knowledge in the MOCs process.
