Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their freight forwarding team in Baytown, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling imports, exports, port drayage, warehousing operations, and customer excellence. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage import and export shipments, including arranging transportation, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations
  • Oversee port drayage operations, coordinating with assets and trucking companies to ensure smooth pick-up and delivery of cargo
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any delays or issues that may arise
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status and address any inquiries or concerns
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of goods
  • Assist in the development and implementation of logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus, but not required
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably in a global logistics provider setting
  • Experience in import and export procedures, customs regulations, and documentation requirements
  • Experience with port drayage operations and working knowledge of transportation modes (ocean, air, trucking)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software/tools
  • Knowledge of warehousing operations and inventory management principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick and sound decisions
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
