Lab Technician

Randstad is seeking a talented Lab Associate to prefer grain quality analysis for a global agricultural company located in Ankeny, Iowa. As the selected candidate, you will work in a positive, innovative work environment where all workers are treated with respect and diversity is accepted.

The work schedule for this position is 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this position, local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receipt, identification, and preparation of samples – ensure incoming samples are labeled correctly, appropriate analytical have been requested, prep and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions.
• Prioritization of analyses according to customer needs matched to capacity; organization and coordination of projects in a high throughput lab environment; obtaining analytical data; ensuring data integrity; functioning in multi-discipline teams and delivering laboratory results in an efficient manner.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field of study1
• 1-3 years of relevant lab experience
• Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

Preferences:

• Preferred candidate will have hands-on experience with total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench-top wet chemical analyses, LIMS and the Microsoft Office Suite. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
