About this Role:

The Human Resources Manager at Ballyhoo Media will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring the smooth operation of our growing team. You will be responsible for managing both the administrative and human resources functions, helping to create a positive, productive, and compliant work environment.


In this role, you will oversee a wide range of responsibilities, from office management to recruiting and employee engagement. You will be the go-to person for everything related to our people—whether it’s streamlining office operations, developing employee benefits programs, or driving initiatives that enhance our company culture.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Act as the point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance on workplace issues and resolving conflicts.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Foster a positive company culture that aligns with the company’s values and promotes a collaborative work environment.

2. Employee Benefits and Compliance:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Ensure compliance of company policies, maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Manage onboarding team members to Payroll platform and key point of contact to answer system questions

3. HR Strategy and Policy Development:

  • Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and inform decision-making.

4. Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs that ensure new hires are integrated smoothly and effectively.

5. Performance Management:

  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews, providing tools and guidance for evaluating employee performance.
  • Implement and monitor performance improvement plans as needed.

6. Training and Development:

  • Identify and coordinate training and development opportunities for employees, promoting continuous learning and growth.
  • Work with department heads to create and implement training programs tailored to specific roles.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as necessary to meet company needs.

7. Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the executive team, including calendar management and communication coordination.
  • Manage company communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across the organization.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

8. Office Management:

  • Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a well-organized, efficient, and welcoming environment.
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and facilities, coordinating with vendors and service providers.
  • Organize company meetings, events, and employee activities, including travel arrangements and accommodations.
  • Develop and manage office budgets in partnership with Finance, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.



Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in office management, human resources, or people operations, preferably in a startup or fast-growing environment.
  • Proven experience in recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • A passion for creating a positive employee experience and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
  • Certifications in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus but not required.
