Harvest Test Stand Supervisor

Position Purpose

Under little or no supervision, the Test Stand Supervisor is responsible for supporting the test stand operation. The Supervisor will ensure that grape trucks are efficiently and accurately processed during their shift. Constantly adapting to challenges and motivating the team to meet the demanding schedule. This role is expected to step in and work alongside direct reports as well as provide decision-making support to the team.

Functional Responsibility

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations and assigned staff in accordance with management's direction
  • Leads in a constructive manner by example; demonstrates and encourages a strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
  • Guides team in the proper use of assets and resources to avoid waste and ensure cost-effective operations
  • Monitors performance and regularly communicates with team to achieve mutual understanding, maintain level of productivity, and deliver desired results
  • Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs
  • Ensures employees have a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment, provides applicable safety training and resolves/reports safety issues to management
  • Supports change initiatives and company decisions in an effective manner
  • Immediately informs management and addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
  • Ensures employees are trained on the policies, processes, and procedures related to functional area; maintains company and regulatory compliance during day-day-operations
  • Adheres to departmental GPS (Performance Management) guidelines and ensures proper GPS documentation; trains employees to do the job; identifies and makes suggestions for training needs and development opportunities

Essential Duties

  • Directly leads and supports the test stand operation to meet the daily schedule
  • Tracks attendance and punctuality of the test stand team
  • Communicates with internal customers to ensure quality and efficiency levels are met and exceptions are documented
  • Trains all test stand employees on all test stand processes
  • Encourages a safe work environment by holding periodic safety meetings and presenting employees with ideas and suggestions for staying safe as it pertains to their working environment
  • Recommends potential staffing, facility, equipment, and process improvement for the test stand
  • Performs all the duties of a test stand operator as needed
  • Supports continuous improvement; promotes the use of performance measuring tools and utilizes collected data to set improvement standards

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ year supervisory or leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills; professional and positive disposition; ability to diffuse tensions under stressful conditions; good listener
  • Excellent organizational and auditing skills; self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and quickly assess what needs to get done
  • Logical problem-solving ability with proficiency in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited information or standards exist
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $16.25 to $25.00. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
