Field Engineer

SAMUEL EPC Taylor, TX

Purpose: Provide interpretive engineering and technical support to field construction supervision and craft

personnel. Assist in building and managing project work packages.

Additional Compensation: Per Diem will be included in pay.

Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability for any time any day of the week.

Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to)

Participate in pre-job planning and job setup for construction support activities.

Read and interpret drawings, codes and specifications.

Change Order investigation, documentation and preparation.

Verify and update process scheduling and installation tracking activities.

Monitor status of materials needed for construction activities.

Monitor status of drawings and specifications needed for construction activities.

Prepare work packages for field construction activities. Perform redline markups on drawing

changes.

Perform quantity surveys for production work installed. Administer and co-ordinate subcontractor

activities.

Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy

Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Employee Handbook, compliant with

the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual, and with the Samuel EPC Safety Manual and

OSHA Safety rules.

Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Construction

Manager, or assigned Craft Superintendent, as needed.

Essential Qualifications

Must have a good working knowledge of construction materials and methods.

Must have a solid technical education and good analytical training.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a

related technical field is preferred.

Spanish language skills are a plus.

Must be willing to relocate to jobsite locations.

Physical Requirements

Stand or walk for long periods of time

Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects

Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50

pounds with assistance

Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment

Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl

See well (naturally or with correction)

Eye-hand coordination

Good physical fitness

Good sense of balance

Work at great heights

Tool Requirements

None

Environment: Works out of a field office at the construction site, monitors all phases of the construction

project, may travel when not assigned to a construction site, usually entails temporary residence away from

primary residence. Be prepared to deal with delays, the effects of bad weather, or emergencies at the site.

Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite

services.
