Job Duties & Accountabilities

Typical Duties of the Feed Mill Maintenance Technician at the Carlyle Feed Mill:

Preventative Maintenance

 Completion of all routine preventative maintenance (PM) checks, lubrication, etc.

 Completion of all PM checklist items and documentation and communicate the status of these at

shift change and team meetings

 Communication of any issues identified to Mill Management

Routine Repairs

 Complete any routine repairs in a timely manner and all tasks efficiently and thoroughly with

emphasis on a like new result

 Promote safe work habits and maintain a safe working environment

 Support of mill activities as time allows

Sustainability And Stewardship

 Ensure that all best management practices are consistent with commonly accepted standards for

animal welfare

 Ensure that routine maintenance work is conducted in a manner that safeguards the environment

and maintains regulatory compliance

Inventory Control

 Responsible for maintaining spare parts inventory and replenishing stock as used

 Responsible for maintaining accurate tool inventory, including maintaining tools to be in a safe and

proper working condition

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge of:  General maintenance techniques.  General understanding of mechanical equipment and its operation.  Basic understanding of computer operations.
• Skill in:  Following oral and written communications.  Time management.  Organizational skills.  Attention to detail. Customer service. Basic Welding and Fabrication preferred. 3 Phase Electrical Knowledge preferred Basic understanding of mechanical troubleshooting, inventory management, and industrial gear boxes preferred.
• Ability to: Follow verbal/written instructions. Work both independently and in a team environment to accomplish goals. Desire to learn new skills and technology systems. Possess a strong work ethic, desire to work as a team member, and respect for their peers
