DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, NJ, is seeking a creative, energetic, and results-oriented professional to serve as its Director of Admissions.

The Director of Admissions is responsible for all aspects of the admissions process for grades 8-12 including developing and implementing a recruitment strategy; shepherding students and families through the admissions process; conducting candidate/family interviews; recruiting newly admitted students to enroll; overseeing the School’s Academic Merit Scholarship Program exam testing; tracking and reviewing candidate applications; generating final admission decisions; and engaging in effective community outreach with the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary, to expand the school’s presence and reputation in the region.

The Director of Admissions is a part of the Advancement Team and reports to the Vice President of Advancement.

Admissions Management Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive plan to promote DePaul Catholic High School to prospective incoming students, transfer students and parents.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the admissions office’s new student recruitment and marketing plan with the purpose of promoting the school’s visibility and general recruitment efforts.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop the overall marketing campaign for the school and work strategically with the school’s constituents to ensure the promotion of an integrated and consistent school identity.
  • Prepare an advertising plan for new student recruitment using social media sources as deemed appropriate.
  • Coordinate the annual Open Houses for prospective students and their parents.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage Accepted Students Day.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Freshmen Welcoming Events.
  • Work with the Campus Minister to manage the school visitation (“Shadow”) program for prospective students and families.
  • Work with the Campus Minister to manage the school’s Ambassador Program, including selection and training of DePaul Catholic student guides/hosts for recruitment/admissions events.
  • Responsible for coordinating recruitment visits to partner grammar and middle schools.
  • Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist school administration with orientation programs for new and transfer students.
  • Work with the Advancement Team members to manage and strengthen a comprehensive International Student Recruitment and Admissions process.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to plan and coordinate the financial aid application process for incoming freshman and transfer students including the notification process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The following qualifications, while not exhaustive, are those the school is looking for in the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (advanced degree a plus).
  • Finalsite and SchoolAdmin knowledge and experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience in high school or college admissions, school administration, or sales and marketing.
  • Proven success in strengthening enrollment or membership by creating and implementing a systematic and strategic approach toward generation of new applicants.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work collegially within a team of educational leaders.
  • Ability to organize information and data effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license.

DePaul Catholic High School was founded in 1956 by the Diocese of Paterson and the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton of Convent Station N.J. DePaul Catholic High School, which has an enrollment of approximately 500 students, is a co-educational diocesan college-preparatory high school whose mission is to foster the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth of its students.
