Daily Responsibilities

  • Use SQL to write in-warehouse ELTs that are efficient and scalable.
  • Use Apache Airflow to deploy data transformation pipelines.
  • Partner with analysts, data engineers, and other data scientists on collaborative projects and workflows.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues related to the data pipelines.

Years Experience

  • 6-8 years of experience (Preference to 8 years)

Required Background/ Skillsets

  • Be able to work around ambiguity
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a computer science field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong skills in SQL, familiarity with Python
  • Experience in one or more RDBMS systems
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented, "musketeer” attitude that can thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team

Skill: data base administration

Application: ELT focused instead of ETL. Someone who understands the difference between the paradigms / business intelligence

Skill: data engineering

Application: airflow experience (Pythion)

Skill: Client Ops experience

Application: user data used for predictive data. Not looking for a data scientist but if they have experience in this

Nice-to-Haves

  • If they have experience in Operations and knowing how to manage and run a business on the data level
  • User data experience ( if they have worked in the medical field and knowing how to work that large set of data)
  • Retail commerce data experience (Amazon, Wayfare)

Disqualifiers

  • Not looking for just buzzard words, the experience needs to be expressed in the resume
  • Not looking for just experience in high frequency data
  • Looking for people who have partnered with the business they need to have been involved in the activity that the business has done
  • Not looking for App developers

Need to actually describe in the resume what the candidate did with those skillsets not just have them listed in bullet points at the top
